A practical choice for regular journeys in Slovakia
The 365-day motorway vignette is suitable for drivers who regularly use Slovak motorways and expressways. It is a practical option for frequent business trips, family visits, weekend stays or travel between different parts of Slovakia. Throughout the validity period, you do not need to purchase additional short-term vignettes before individual journeys or repeatedly check their validity.
The 365-day vignette is not tied to a calendar year
The validity of the 365-day vignette is not tied to the calendar year, so it does not have to begin on 1 January. When purchasing the vignette, you select the desired validity start date, and it will then remain valid for 365 days. If the vignette becomes valid during a summer holiday in July, for example, its validity will continue into the following year. This allows you to use the full 365-day period regardless of when during the year the vignette becomes valid.
Changing the vehicle or registration number during the vignette validity period
The electronic motorway vignette is linked to the vehicle’s registration number and country of registration. If the registration number of the vehicle changes during the vignette’s validity period, you must request an update of the details directly from the official issuer of Slovak motorway vignettes – the National Motorway Company (NDS). If the vehicle is sold or replaced, the vignette is not automatically transferred to another vehicle. If the new vehicle has a different registration number, a new motorway vignette generally needs to be purchased.
